Bud Jones: Experience Classic American Seafood in San Antonio

Bud Jones is a classic SA spot. Good enough food and great, feel like home service. I had the cheese enchilada special, I’d give it 4 Stars on an even playing field and 5 stars considering it was only 8.99.

Update the food is still delicious! Went in recently ordered fish, shrimp,fries & came with a roll & 2 small hush puppies! The tea is delicious. The service by the gentleman was absolutely great! Would be great if they played music on a regular. Went in for some chicken fried chicken, & I wasn't disappointed! It was definitely delicious!

Parking can be tricky.. they're busy even on Wednesday afternoons. Party of 5. We all enjoyed the food and the service. Some of us have been there in years, it was one guys first time. Everyone pretty much cleaned their plate. Delicious appetizers and friendly wait staff.

I ordered the Rockport shrimp and two sides of onion rings. Very delicious meal that will leave you filling satisfied. I ordered the hushpuppies and although a bit dry, they were still good to eat and I did eat them all. A nice family owned restaurant that's worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

The food is always so delicious! I usually get the fried fish and shrimp, never disappoints! Can’t beat that in house tartar sauce.

We wanted to support our SouthSide so we visited for dinner on Valentine's Day. We had the Steak with Garlic Shrimp & Sauce. It was good. I expected a loaded potato but even though it wasn't loaded, I enjoyed it, it was perfectly cooked. No line, food came quick. Pleasant experience.

Always ask a local! We wanted to avoid the touristy restaurants while in San Antonio and I always try to ask locals "When you clock out, where do you want to go eat?". The servings were definitely Texas sized and I LOVED the hamburger steak and the mashed potatoes were delicious. Richard was a great server and I highly recommend this place!

We finally came back after about 4 years, thanks to seeing SA Live there yesterday. We were never going to set foot in that restaurant again with the horrible service, sub-par food, 3% credit card fee (still exists) and a poor attitude from the lady we were giving our hard earned money to at the register. Today, we were greeted by Jannita who's been serving folks for 26 years here. She was extremely delightful and showed that she loves her job through and through. She has a true pride and purpose in helping those she serves to ensure they're satisfied and happy with their meal. The food was good and better than expected. I had the fried fish & shrimp (shrimp was a little over cooked since they're so small) and hubby had a late breakfast which he said was great (other than the tiny pieces of bacon served on his plate, they should get more quality bacon) After our meal, I'm glad to say that we revisited and have decided that we will return in the near future. This family owned restaurant has truly stepped up their game for sure!!
